For Future Reference (FFR) reimagines how an activewear brand can be positioned within the modern world, responding to the intensifying effects of climate change across tropical Southeast Asia. The project explores performance wear not simply as functional equipment, but as part of a wider lifestyle shaped by movement, environment and identity.
At its core is Body System 01, a modular outerwear system that pairs weather protection with removable active-cooling technology, exploring how garments can actively mediate the relationship between body and climate.
FFR deliberately navigates the tension between technical performance and cultural perception. While the product is grounded in research, testing and functional innovation, its identity is carefully curated through fashion, image-making and brand language, transforming function into an aspirational lifestyle and a distinct visual world.
